MEEISATCODE is the acronym of the M. E. Eapen of Science & Technology for Community Development at present based in Boisar, in Maharashtra.
The institute was the result of a vision a person obtained after his training in some of the best institutes in Mumbai, like St. Xavier’s College, the Institute of Science, and the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, all from Mumbai, and his working experience in a national institute at Trivandrum.
He noticed that research and development in India is primarily conducted on the basis of funds allotted by the ruling government. These allotments are done on the basis of the agenda of the ruling political party and the relationship of the researcher with the ruling party. During student days, the student pledge says. “India is my country. All Indians are my brothers and sisters.” But when you start working in a government setting, you realise that you missed a fine print following it: “Some Indians are more equal brothers and sisters, and the funds belong to them.” Thus, government support for some genuine R&D requirements of a community is often overlooked. Some technologies are already available, but they are not disseminated to the community because of the low priority of the political party.
Against such a backdrop, the above mentioned person, instead of working for his lifelong pension by merely warming his chair in the central government system, resigned and started his venture in a humble way in 2002 in an uncharted journey. The only moral support he had was the history of many “Gentlemen Scientists” who did science out of their genuine interest without funds from funding agencies. The only source of income available was raising funds through advertising and marketing activities through Chaloglobal.com, working as a part-time school teacher, and family support.
We at MEEISATCODE move with rural people and observe the problems they face in their day-to-day lives. We identify solutions and develop It for them. Subsequently, we train them to use new technology to solve their problems.
MEEISATCODE believes that the wellness of man is possible only when all his three faculties (soul, mind, and body) are in a balanced condition. Thus, we teach them matters important to the soul, mind, and body. These are taught in the younger generation through the science and values club in some schools that welcome us and through our publications.
We present the products and services developed by us from 2002 to the present.
The list of publications is also included.
