Who can restore Man to God?
. know there is a broken relationship between the Creator and man. But who can restore the relationship? Let us take a real-life experience. Suppose you lost something. Who will go for searching it? You know that it is the owner who will always search for the lost articles or valuables. If someone loses his dog, he will not wait for the dog to return home by itself. He will go out and search for it. The pet like dog belongs to class Mammalia and man also belongs to the same class. Though dog and man belong to the same class, we know that dog is inferior to man in intelligence and requires man’s help to find its way to the owner. If this logic is true for man and his dog which belong to a common class, how can we think that a finite man can find an infinite God? In other words, only God can restore the broken relationship with man 7.
That is why Bhagawath Gita 18:66 says;
Sarva-dharman parityajya mam akam saranam vraja
Aham tvam sarva-papebhyo moksayisyami ma sucah
Abandon all varieties of religion and just surrender unto Me. I shall deliver you from all evil reaction. Fear not. In other words, man’s karma alone cannot give him salvation. He has to surrender to the Supreme Lord.
It also says that salvation is by Grace of God Bhagawat Gita 18:62,
Tam eva saranam gaccha
Sarva-bhavena bharata
Tat-prasadat param santam
Sthanam prapsyasi sasvatm
O scion of Bharata, surrender unto Him utterly. By His grace, you will attain transcendental peace and the supreme and eternal abode.
If you do not surrender you will be lost according to Bhagawat Gita 18:58
Mac-cittah sarva-durgani
Mat-prasadat tarisyasi
Atha cet tvam ahankaran
Na srosyasi vinanksyasi.
If you become conscious of Me, you will pass over all the obstacles of conditioned life by My grace. If, however, you do not work in such consciousness but act through false ego, not hearing Me, you will be lost.
It is clear from Bhagawat Gita that the salvation is by the grace of God alone.
